■by+doing
「by+〜ing+…」の形にします。
動名詞の部分を「〜することで」「〜したので」「〜して」のように訳すと理解しやすいです。
He caught the train by running.
（彼は走って電車に間に合った。）
She has lost her weight by walking.
（彼女はウォーキングでダイエットしました。）
He was absent from school by catching a cold yesterday.
（彼は昨日風邪を引いて学校を休みました。）
I've got the highest marks on the math examination by studying hard.
（一所懸命勉強して数学のテストで最高点をとった。）
My mother removed all spots from my uniform by washing with her hands.
（母は手洗いすることによって制服のシミをすべて取り除いた。）
My shoulders are stiff by reading a book for ten hours.
（１０時間本を読んで肩が凝った。）
