複合関係副詞と同じ用法です。
「〜にせよ、〜としても」の意味を表します。
これも次のように書き換えが可能です。
・whoever ＝ no matter who
・whichever ＝ no matter which
・whatever ＝ no matter what
以下の例文を丸暗記して下さい。
例文：
Don't open the door whoever may come.
＝ Don't open the door no matter who will come.
（誰が来ようともそのドアは開けるな。）
Whichever you choose, you won't regret.
＝ No matter which you choose, you won't regret.
（どれを選んでも、君は後悔しないでしょう。）
I can't believe you whatever you may say.
＝ I can't believe you no matter what you may say.
（君が何を言おうとも、僕は君を信じられない。）
